About
A competent and passionate designer with a track record of success, I pride myself on approaching my work with intelligence, empathy and creativity.
A multi-disciplinary design background has helped me enormously throughout my career, giving me the experience to apply core design tenets to a range of problems. Whether working within an 8-hour news cycle at a major UK newspaper, helping tech start-ups transition to a global business, or pushing for innovation within a popular social-media service, I’ve always aimed to learn and improve while maintaining a high level of professionalism and efficiency.
I transitioned to UX/UI Design in 2017, relying heavily on my communication skills to hit the ground running. I was soon conducting extensive interviews and user testing sessions, presenting these findings to C-suite stakeholders, all while maintaining a fast, iterative wireframing process. I built a small design team; my focus was on promoting user-centric product processes and UX-led decision-making while giving the team the freedom to develop their skills independently.
Since then, I’ve worked with complex dynamic datasets, designed interfaces for large communities of passionate users, and choreographed extensive research initiatives. I have developed a more generalised management skillset; building sustainable processes, managing contractor teams for feature releases, all while continuing to champion new technologies and design trends. I’m especially proud of how I have been able to tackle challenges that go beyond the traditional responsibilities of a designer throughout my career.
In my free time, I am a dedicated guitar-player, illustrator and photographer. I’m also a horror movie addict; in another life I’d have loved to work in film or special effects.
Looking ahead, I hope I can continue to provide a voice to users, advocate for accessibility and remain inquisitive and open-minded in my approach to design.
